MAD HEADS XL officially declare that the band IS NOT GOING TO PERFORM on 24-25 August at "Independence Day with Makhno" festival in Gulyay-Pole. The promoters of the festival DIDN'T GET the permition from us to use the name of the band in the festival's promo campaign, so the promoters are completely responsible for any possible inconvenience considering this situation. We ask mass media representatives, especially those, who were involved in the festival's promo campaign, to refute this incorrect information.
MAD HEADS XL created a soundtrack for the comedy TV serial "Davay odruzhimos" ("Let's get married"). First and second of 20 series can be seen on Saturday 19 August at 18-05 on 1+1 TV. While the band members are no fans of the "situational comedy" genre to which this film belongs, working on the soundtrack was fun and a good experience, and the main theme is a nice one. Later this year, the serial is also going to be shown in Russia on STS TV.
Attention!!! Our regular gig on 30 June at art-pub DOCKER'S ABC is canceled due to it's coincidence in time with the football match Ukraine-Italy at the World Cup 2006. Also please take notice that the next Docker Pub gig will be on Saturday 8 July (instead of usual Friday).
25 June is a starting day for our new radio single "Autobus Buratin". While original version is available from the album "Nadiya Yea" and has already appeared on air, this time the radio stations were proposed to have the album edit version and a few special radio mixes. Also, the video for this song is soon to appeare on TV.
On 26 June the album NADIYA YEA will be released in Europe on EMI!!! The first countries to release the album will be Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Baltic Countries and Russia. The album will keep the same tracklist as in the Ukrainian edition. Press release
MAD HEADS XL participated in recording a football anthem "Ukrayino, vpered!" ("Ukraine, go ahead!") which will support our National team during the World Cup 2006 in Germany. The song was officially presented on 25 May, and on 28th it was sung at Kyiv's Repulican stadium during the succesful match UKRAINE-COSTA RICA (4:0). Now the song can be heard on the radio and it's video can be seen on Ukrainian TV channels. It's also available to listen and download here, and here is the ringtone available. The band was invited to participate in this song by National Football Team's title sponsor, mobile operator KYIVSTAR. Other artists in this project are Alyona Vinnytska and Havana band. While the origianl version of the song is evidently far from MAD HEADS XL sound, the band promises to deliver it's own version, which could be heard live at concerts only.
In the nearest few days MAD HEADS XL will be filmed for several projects. First is the new video for the song "Autobus Buratin" from the recent album "Nadiya Yea". Second is the same song will be featured in INTER TV program "PISNYA 2006" ("THE SONG 2006"), which will be shooted in Kyiv's Sport Palace on 12 May. Finally, the band is invited to participate in creation of "the football anthem" which is meant to support the National Team during the World Cup - the video for this song will also be made in the nearest time.
FESTIVAL SEASON 2006 OPENING. On 1 May MAD HEADS XL will perform at the biggest and the most famous Ukrainian music festival TAVRIA GAMES in Kakhovka. In 2004 the band presented there their expanded line up and never missed the festival ever since. This time the musicians will appeare in the new stage image and the concert set will consist of the well tested hits and absolutely new songs. Whoever won't make it to Kakhovka this year still can watch the band live on air on M1 TV.
With the show at Tavria Games MAD HEADS XL will open their this year's festival season. At least 2 other huge music events want to see the guys on their stages in Summer. 4-6 July are the dates for the biggest rock festival in Czech Republic ROCK FOR PEOPLE. The band showed up there with a lot of success the last year, and now it's invited again. A pleasant surprise, the guys will play on the same day with the main festival's headliner MANU CHAO, who is the biggest influence for the recent "Nadiya Yea" album. In the period on 9-15 August the band will visit one of the biggest Europe's musical events SZIGET in Hungary. MAD HEADS XL will be the first Ukrainian band ever to play at this festival. Meanwhile the exact date of perfomance is under discussion as well as the full list of the world's famous stars with whom the band will share the stage in Budapest.
MAD HEADS XL: the headliners of a music/beer tour. In April, there will be 6 events on the main squares of the biggest Ukrainian cities. There will be regional rock bands contests (the winners will be playing at this year's TAVRIA GAMES FESTIVAL), and the fast-beer-drinking freaks will fight to reach the finals of the national beer championship "OBOLON". Music and beer actions will take the whole day, and MAD HEADS XL perfomances will be closing the events. For exact dates and places please check out our "GIGS" section.
